Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the Fifth Caspian Summit

On 12 August 2018 the heads of Caspian states – the Azerbaijan Republic, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan – participated in the Fifth Caspian Summit, which took place in Aktau.

The key outcome of the meeting became the signing by the leaders of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea aimed at further development of the comprehensive interaction of the coastal states.
