The CIS will have a common standard for tourist services

Yesterday, the development of tourism was discussed by the CIS tourism authorities during a video conference call.

Valeriy Korovkin, Chief, Office for International Cooperation, Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, stressed the need to harmonize tourism regulation, create a common statistic framework to avoid controversy in tourist traffic data, raise the quality of tourist services, and shape a common standard for the industry.

The IPA CIS adopted the model laws Framework of Cooperation of the CIS Member Nations in the field of Tourism and Tourism for Youngsters on 29 October 1994 and 4 December 2004, respectively.

Naming 2014 the Year of Tourism was supported by the heads of all the CIS countries. The respective decision was made at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State on 25 October 2013.
