Commonwealth Activists Considered Trade Unions’ Involvement in Developing Youth Programs

The seminar “Trade unions’ contribution to improving legislation in the field of youth policy” was held today, where participants discussed trade union experience of influencing state youth policy.

The organizer was the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU). The seminar was attended by activists of the Youth Council of the GCTU and youth structures of the member organizations of the Confederation from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Head of the GCTU Department for Work with Affiliates and Trade Unions of the World Alexey Stukalo and chairperson of the GCTU Youth Council Aigerim Berdybekova welcomed the participants. They wished fruitful work and thanked the speakers for agreeing to share their valuable experience.

Secretary of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (YIPA CIS)  Margarita Levina devoted her speech to the history of the YIPA CIS and the main directions of the Assembly’s work. She also told about actual humanitarian and cultural-patriotic projects conducted by the organization.
