Youth Participation in Activities Dedicated to 75th Anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War Discussed in Moscow

The section “Preservation and Promotion of Heritage of the Peoples of the CIS Member Nations” dedicated to the 75^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941 – 1945 took part within the 5^th Forum of CIS Youth Organizations.

The representatives of the youth organizations discussed the plans of participation of the CIS youth in the events dedicated to the 75^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War to be held in 2020 at both national and international level.

Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Public Association “Belarusian Republican Youth Union” Oleg Dikun and Deputy Speaker of the Youth Parliament at the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, member of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (YIPA CIS) Elena Erakina.

YIPA CIS Executive Secretary Margarita Safarova informed the participants of the Forum on the IPA CIS Plan of Events Dedicated to the 75^th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941 – 1945, as well as on the opportunities for the participation of the CIS youth organizations.

She paid particular attention to the media project “Lines of Memory” initiated by the YIPA CIS and scheduled for April 2020. The project features a series of video messages on behalf of the veterans, MPs, public figures and the youth representatives, reading the wartime or post-war poetry of the national authors line by line. The first presentation of the project is scheduled to take place in April 2020 at the IPA CIS plenary session dedicated to the 75^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
