Best Practices for Organizing Elections Discussed at a Conference at IPA CIS Headquarters

The representatives of election administration bodies, international organizations, academia and experts exchanged information on the best practices for organizing elections across the Commonwealth at a roundtable on the first day of the international research and practice conference “CIS Convention on the Standards of Democratic Elections: Open Space for International Cooperation “.

Member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Pavel Andreev chaired the roundtable.

The roundtable discussed such issues as the features of national electoral systems, the use of modern digital technologies in elections, the training of election organizers, the participation of women in electoral campaigns, as well as the activities of public and international organizations in the electoral field.

At the end of the roundtable, the participants exchanged views on the implementation of successful practices, the necessary adaptation mechanisms such implementation and the need to take into account national specifics when applying the experience of organizing and holding elections and referenda.
