CIS MPs Laid Flowers to Memorial Complex to Defenders of Motherland in Nur-Sultan

On 9 January, the IPA CIS international observers visited the Memorial Complex "Otan korgauchylar” on the Defenders of the Motherland Square in Nur-Sultan, laid flowers and wreaths and had a minute of silence in memory of the fallen warriors.

Soviet Kazakhstan sent more than 1,800,000 people to the front. Half of the warriors did not come home. More than 500 Kazakhstani people received the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union. The memory about the Great Patriotic War is an integral part of the country’s history. The tragic events left an indelible mark on the life of every Kazakhstani.
