CIS Observer Mission Drew Outcomes of Monitoring of Snap Parliamentary Elections in Republic of Armenia

On 21 June 2021, the final press conference of the CIS Observer Mission at the snap elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia was held in Yerevan. According to Head of the CIS Observer Mission, Deputy Chair of the CIS Executive Committee Ilkhom Nematov, voting took place in accordance with the requirements of the electoral code, the CIS observers did not record any violations that could affect the election results.

The IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Belarus on Industry, Fuel-Energy Complex, Transport and Communication Igor Komarovsky agreed with the position of Ilkhom Nematov. He also expressed gratitude to the media for objectively covering the electoral process. The shortcomings identified by the IPA CIS observers were of a purely technical nature and did not affect the voting results.

According to the Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, the IPA CIS observers noted that it is worth giving greater importance to ensuring access to polling stations for people with disabilities.
