CIS Observers Met With Participants of Electoral Race in Republic of Moldova

The IPA CIS Observer Team, led by its Head, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy and IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Law Enforcement, Combating Crime and Corruption Iskender Matraimov, held meetings with representatives of political parties running in the elections on 11 July.

Leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon told international observers about the peculiarities of participation in the election campaign as part of the electoral bloc, outlined the main points of the party’s electoral program and commented on the latest decisions of the judicial authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

At a meeting with Vice-Chair of the Party of Action and Solidarity Mikhail Popshoi, international observers discussed the criteria for opening polling stations abroad and for citizens living on the left bank of the Dniester, as well as observing the elections by the party at these polling stations.

Chair of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin spoke about the party’s program and noted cases of foreign interference in the electoral process.

Vice-Chair of the Shor Political Party Marina Tauber shared with the observers her assessment of the electoral campaign and the party’s prospects in the elections.
