Current Threats to Digitalization of Electoral Processes Discussed in Minsk

On 25 May, Minsk hosted the International Research and Practice Conference “Theory and Practice of the Electoral Process” that brought together parliamentarians, representatives of international organizations, election administration bodies, political parties and experts in the field of electoral law shared experience in preparing and conducting election campaigns, improving legislation, applying modern technologies and raising legal awareness of voters.

Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko, First Deputy Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadali Vatanzoda, Chairman of the Central Commission of the Republic of Belarus on Elections and Holding Republican Referenda Igor Karpenko participated in the conference.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – IPA CIS IIMDD Director Ivan Mushket presented the report “Challenges and Threats to the Digitalization of Electoral Processes: the Experience of the CIS Countries” at the plenary session.
