Digitalization of Electoral Processes to be Discussed by Participants of Youth Electoral School in Kyrgyz Republic

The Youth Electoral School on the theme “Elections in the Digital Era” will be held on 20-25 June 2023 in Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The organizers of the School are the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), the IPA CIS IIMDD Bishkek Office and Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn.

Students of the partner universities of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat from the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation will become participants of the Youth Electoral School in 2023.

The program of the School provides for lectures, seminars and workshops on issues of electoral law and process, electoral sovereignty and election observation in the era of digitalization.

Representatives of international organizations, election administration authorities, academia and experts from the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation will take part in the event as speakers.

The main task for the participants of the School is to prepare and present draft recommendations on the organization and conduct of election campaigns and their monitoring in the context of digitalization.

A meeting of the international youth discussion club “Tavricheskiy” on the theme “Elections in the Digital Era: Electoral Sovereignty vs. Open Information Society” will take place on the margins of the School.

Participants of the School will participate in the events of the Issyk-Kul Electoral Forum to be held by the Central Commission on Elections and Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic on 22-23 June 2023.
