Head of CIS Observer Mission Dmitriy Kobitskiy Met with Head of OSCE/ODIHR Mission Tamas Meszerics

On 12 July, in Chisinau, Head of the CIS Observer Mission, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy met with Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Mission Tamas Meszerics.

The Heads of Missions spoke about the composition of the observer teams of international organizations and the specifics of the monitoring.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy informed the meeting participants that 130 observers were accredited as the IPA CIS observers. The mission performed monitoring in the capital and regions of Moldova, as well as at foreign polling stations across the CIS, and in other countries of Europe, Asia and America.

According to Tamas Meszerics, the short-term monitoring of the elections in Moldova was carried out by more than 300 OSCE/ODIHR observers. The monitoring group of the organization did not perform monitoring on foreign polling stations.

The parties exchanged impressions on the preparation and holding of the electoral campaign for the elections to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and discussed the voting progress on the election day.

The meeting was also attended by IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator Iskender Matraimov, Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development (IPA CIS IIMDD) Ivan Mushket and Head of the Mission headquarters Evgeniy Kozyak.
