IPA CIS Observers Met with Speaker of Majilis of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov

IPA CIS international observers at the elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed the features of the electoral campaign with Speaker of the lower house of the Parliament Erlan Koshanov.

IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Deputy Speaker of the lower house of the Parliament of Tajikistan Dilrabo Mansuri introduced the team and informed the Kazakhstani MPs about the work carried out by  observers in the framework of long-term monitoring, as well as meetings with participants in the electoral process that took place in Astana.

Erlan Koshanov, who heads of the headquarters of presidential candidate Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, spoke about the work with voters and highly appreciated the role of the international observation performed by the IPA CIS in the improvement of electoral processes and their democratization.

The observers handed over to the chamber the “Conclusion on the Compliance of the Legislation Regulating the Early Presidential Elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the International Standards for Democratic Elections” and the “Report of the Expert Group on the Long-Term Monitoring of the Preparation for the Early Presidential Elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 20 November 2022”.
