IPA CIS Observers Met With Leadership of CEC of Republic of Kazakhstan

Today, the IPA CIS international observers met with Chair of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov in Astana.

IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Deputy Speaker of the lower house of the Parliament of Tajikistan Dilrabo Mansuri spoke about the composition of the team, the stages of long-term monitoring and the geography of observation.

Nurlan Abdirov thanked the observers for their participation in the monitoring. He briefed them on the nomination and registration of candidates, the peculiarities of the organization of the elections and the innovations of the current electoral campaign.

According to the head of the CEC, international observers showed great interest in the elections – the commission registered 532 observers from 10 international organizations and 109 observers from 35 foreign countries.

The observers handed over to the CEC leadership the “Conclusion on the Compliance of the Legislation Regulating the Early Presidential Elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the International Standards for Democratic Elections” and the “Report of the Expert Group on Long-Term Monitoring of the Preparation for the Early Presidential Elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 20 November 2022” based on the long-term election monitoring.
