IPA CIS Observers Participated in Ceremony of Laying Flowers to Leningrad Siege Survivors Memorial in Bishkek

The CIS parliamentarians carrying out monitoring of the snap presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic laid a wreath to the Leningrad Siege Survivors Memorial in the Asanov Victory Park in Bishkek.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations Ivan Mushket noted in his speech the contribution of all the CIS peoples to the Victory over Nazism during the Great Patriotic War. He also highlighted the role of Kyrgyzstan in rescuing the inhabitants of besieged Leningrad.

Ivan Mushket handed over the capsule containing soil from the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery to Vice Mayor of Bishkek Aizhan Chynybaeva and expressed confidence that the common memory of the eternal feat of our ancestors would be remembered forever in the memory of the Kyrgyz and Russian peoples.
