Impact of Political Culture and Social Solidarity Phenomenon on Electoral Behavior of Citizens of Moldova Discussed via Videoconferencing

On 25 June, the international online-conference “Impact of Political Culture and Social Solidarity Phenomenon on Electoral Behavior of Citizens of Moldova”. The event was organized by the IIMDD IPA CIS, the IIMDD IPA CIS Chisinau Office and the Institute of Legal, Political and Sociological Research at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova.

The Conference brought together researchers and experts from different countries, representatives of the Parliament and the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova.

In his welcoming speech Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Chisinau Office Eugeniu Stirbu noted that political culture and social solidarity were two main policy objectives both at the national and supranational levels, therefore, the discussed topic was particularly important and relevant not only for the Republic of Moldova, but also for all the IPA CIS Member Nations.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – IIMDD IPA CIS Director, Doctor of Law, Professor Ivan Mushket welcomed the participants on behalf of IPA CIS Secretary General Dmitriy Kobitskiy. According to the address of the Secretary General, “right now, in the face of a new global challenge, the manifestation of solidarity is crucial to preserve society. It is only through consolidated efforts that the democratic principles of state development can be maintained”.

Ivan Mushket also wished the participants interesting work and fruitful deliberations on behalf of Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Ion Lipciu.

The IIMDD IPA CIS Director noted that political culture was a criterion of political maturity of the society, and the idea of social solidarity should be in demand both at national and regional levels.

During the Conference, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova Dorin Cimil, Director of the Institute of Legal, Political and Sociological Research Viktor Zhuk, experts of the IIMDD IPA CIS Chisinau Office Petru Railean, Nikolai Osmokesku and Roman Romashev, Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Baku Office Elman Imamaliev, Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Bishkek Office Islambek Mursabekov, Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Yerevan Office Vagram Avetisyan, and other experts delivered their speeches on the topic.
