Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan to Be Held on 24 October 2021

The Central Election Commission notes: the work on the preparation and holding of the elections to be monitored by national and international observers.

Today, the CEC meeting launched a significant political event – the presidential elections. The elections campaign starts today, on 23 July.

Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizamkhodjaev noted that the presidential elections will be held based on the new electoral legislation that complies with the generally acknowledged international standards and democratic principles.

According to the CEC press service, during the electoral campaign the atmosphere of fair competition and equal conditions will be created for all political parties and their candidates. The preparation and holding of the presidential elections, including the voting process, will be monitored by the political parties, which nominated their candidates, self-government bodies, international organizations, representatives of foreign states and journalists.

Bringing to the attention of voters the significance of the presidential elections, the peculiarities of the voting, the essence of the country’s electoral legislation was also determined as an important task.
