Valentina Matvienko Voted at Elections to State Duma

Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko took part in voting at the elections of members of the State Duma of the 8th convocation.

Speaking with the journalists, the Speaker of the Federation Council stressed that elections were a major political event, the exercise by citizens of their constitutional right to choose the government, to determine the country’s development strategy.

In addition, Valentina Matvienko noted the high competitiveness of the elections. She also drew attention to the importance of ensuring a safe voting environment. Referring to the issue of possible violations during the voting, Valentina Matvienko noted that there were fewer of them than in the previous elections.
