By-elections to the Verhovna Rada began in Ukraine

The IPA CIS observers witnessed the opening of polling stations. They checked their state of readiness, representation of local elecoms, supervised sealing of ballot boxes, the sufficiency of information on candidates and other necessary reference materials, as well as the accuracy of the opening time.
Then, the observers proceeded to Ukrainian regions to supervise the voting process. The Ukrainian CEC questioned the results of elections in five of the constituencies on 28 October 2012. Later, on 5 September 2013, the Verhovna Rada approved by-elections in those precincts.
