Cooperation between the election commissions and government authorities was discussed in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg hosted interregional seminar devoted to cooperation of the election commissions and government authorities. The seminar was organized by the St. Petersburg Election Commission and the Committee on Youth Policy and Cooperation with Social Agencies.

The seminar was attended by Deputy Director of the International Institute for Monitoring democratic and Parliamentary Process and Suffrage in the CIS Denis Zhuk, representatives of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, election System of St. Petersburg, Election Commissions of the entities of the Russian Federation, executive branch authorities, the Civic Chamber of St. Petersburg, NGOs and municipal authorities.

Among the issues of the agenda were cooperation between NGOs and the electorate, increasing transparency and legitimacy of elections, improving election monitoring and developing the systems of independent monitoring of elections, use of electronic mass media in elections and many others.
