Coordinator of the IPA CIS Observer Team met with international colleagues

Coordinator of IPA CIS Observer Team Almazbek Baatyrbekov met with OSCE Special Coordinator at the Elections to the State Douma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilkka Kanerva. They shared views on the level of organization of election in the Russian Federation, the work of the CEC and noted progress in Russian legislation and improvement of transparency of the CEC's activities. The parties also discussed cooperation in hosting an international conference on electoral research and improving electoral law in 2017.

Almazbek Baatyrbekov also met with Jan Petersen, Head of OSCE ODIHR Mission at the Elections to the State Douma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to discuss results of long-term monitoring and further work.
