Dmitriy Kobitskiy Meets with Acting Consul General of Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg Zafar Abdurakhmanov

The meeting of Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy with Acting Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg Zafar Abdurakhmanov took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

The parties discussed the issues related to the preparation for monitoring of the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was held as a follow-up of the decree of Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko. According to the decree, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov was appointed the Observer Team Coordinator.
The discussion brought up the issues of cooperation between the IPA CIS Council Secretariat and the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the accreditation of the IPA CIS international observers and in developing a joint action plan to address organizational issues, in particular, the cooperation during monitoring at foreign polling stations.
