IPA CIS Council Secretariat representative participates in the 28th Annual Conference of ACEEEO

The 28^th Annual Conference of the Association of European Election Officials devoted to the issue of “Judicial Protection of Electoral Rights and the Transparency of Elections” is finalizing its work in Ljubljana, Slovenia. IIMDD IPA CIS Acting Director Ekaterina Goloulina represented the IPA CIS Council Secretariat at the event.

This year the conference is co-organized by the ACEEEO and the State Election Commission of the Republic of Slovenia and brought together over 150 participants. In the framework of plenary sessions, discussion panels and roundtables the participants discussed the role of the electoral management bodies (EMBs) in ensuring democracy of the electoral process, in particular, various aspects of the EMBs interaction with the courts and other stakeholders, such as voters and political parties, in order to observe electoral rights.

As tradition, the exhibition of the latest electoral equipment, providing advanced solutions to ensure the protection of the electoral process in relation to cybersecurity, processing and storing of voters’ personal data and fraud prevention.
