10 February 2016
This year the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary Process and Suffrage (IPA CIS IIMDP) celebrates its 10th anniversary. It was established by the resolution of the IPA CIS Council of 10 February 2006.
The Institute is aimed at monitoring elections in the CIS countries and beyond, analyzing election legislation and developing recommendations on the basis of election monitoring.
Since its establishment, IIMDP experts have provided comprehensive administrative support to IPA CIS international observers in the CIS states and in other countries.
The Institute is a venue for sharing experience: it regularly organizes international conferences, seminars, round tables that are attended by parliamentarians, chairpersons and members of central election commissions, leaders of international organizations and experts in election legislation.
To share its best practices the Institute has established its branches in Baku, Erevan, Bishkek, Chisinau and Kiev.
The IIMDP also publishes brochures, articles and interviews about the elections monitored, history of elections in different states and various election systems.
