IPA CIS Observer Team Holds Wrap-Up Session in Tashkent

Following the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the IPA CIS international Observer Team held a meeting chaired by IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov. The Team members exchanged their opinions on the outcomes of the short-term monitoring and their observations on the election day.

The IPA CIS international Observer Team pointed out that electoral legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan had created necessary conditions for holding free and open democratic elections. The election commissions carried out their duties in accordance with the national legislation on the basis of transparency and openness.

At the end of the meeting, the Report of the IPA CIS observers was unanimously approved and signed.
