IPA CIS Observer Team participates in the monitoring of the snap elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia

The IPA CIS Observer Team started its short-term monitoring mission at the elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. Deputy Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic Mirlan Bakirov assumed the role of the Team Coordinator in accordance with the order of the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko.

23 IPA CIS international observers from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrghyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, and Tajikistan have been accredited. They include MPs, representatives of the political bodies, as well as IPA CIS Council Secretariat staff members and IPA CIS IIMDD experts.

On 7 December 2018, the Observer Team visited several polling stations in Yerevan and checked their readiness for the Voting Day, talked to chairs and members of election commissions.

O the same day, Member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sarsenbay Ensegenov, Member of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rakhmon Shorakhmatov and Secretariat staff members met with Head of Passport and Visa Service of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Mnacakon Bichyakhan.
