IPA CIS observers made one more visit to the Russian regions

On 26 August the members of the IPA CIS monitoring mission observing elections to the Sate State Douma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation visited Olonets Municipal District of the Republic of Karelia.

The observers met with leaders of territorial elecoms and regional representatives of political parties. They discussed the progress of pre-election campaigns, noting the complexity of the existing signature collection procedure.

On the same day of 26 August, the observers visited Leningrad region and met with leaders of territorial elecoms of Lodeynopolsky and Podporozhsky Municipal Districts.
