IPA CIS Observers Met with Mikhail Myasnikovich

The IPA CIS observers met with the Speaker of the Council of Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich at the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

During the meeting, Mikhail Myasnikovich noted the increased activity of the participants in the electoral process and growing interest in the current elections in the Republic of Belarus compared to the 2016 elections. He reported on a record number of registered candidates (515 people) and accredited foreign (international) observers (1028 people).

Coordinator of the IPA CIS Observer Team, First Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdujabbor Azizi and Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy informed the Speaker of the Council of the Republic about the composition of the Observer Team and the results of the long-term monitoring.

At the end of the meeting, Mikhail Myasnikovich called on deputies of national parliaments to support youth projects and highlighted the role of youth as the main resource shaping the political agenda of tomorrow and ensuring the continuity of integration programs in various areas of international cooperation across the CIS.
