IPA CIS Observers Outlined Working Schedule for Election Day in Uzbekistan

The IPA CIS Observer Team at the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an organizational meeting in Tashkent.

The meeting was opened by IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov and Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy.

The meeting outlined the goals for the short-term monitoring, as well as the main principles and standards for the observers while performing their duties.

Head of the expert group of International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations Stanislav Tkachenko shared the results of the long-term monitoring and the analytical background materials prepared by the experts.

Acting Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Ekaterina Goloulina briefed the participants of the meeting on the schedules of the Observer Team members, including on the election day.
