Joint seminar co-organized by the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan and the IIMDD IPA CIS took place in Astana

The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Institute for the Monitoring of Democratic Development, Parliamentarism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations co-hosted the seminar Preparation for the International Monitoring at the Presidential Elections in the Russian Federation. It was organized in order to inform the observers on the main features of the Russian legal framework and legal regulation of the presidential elections.

The event brought together the representatives of the central and regional governmental bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan who will be included in the short-term election monitoring missions of international organizations.

The presentations were made by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Dmitry Gladei and the two experts of the IIMDD IPA CIS – Advisor of the Constitutional Court, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Law and State of the North-West Institute of Management, branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Alexey Kartsov and Professor of the Department of European Studies of the St. Petersburg State University Stanislav Tkachenko.

The presentations of the IIMDD IPA CIS experts focused on the topics of supranational regulation of the electoral process, international election monitoring in the CIS countries, legal regulation and administration of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation.
