Modern electoral trends discussed in Moscow

The international conference Modern Electoral Trends in Multipolar World, organized by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, is taking place in Moscow.

The key focuses of the event included the discussion of issues of the alignment of international legal approaches with national practices of hosting and monitoring of elections. The event brought together representatives of the electoral bodies of the CIS member nations, international organizations, as well as the Federal Assembly and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, Director of the International Institute of Monitoring Democratic Development, Parliamentarism and Suffrage for the IPA CIS Member Nations Dmitry Gladei represented the IPA CIS at the Conference. He presented a report on the 15th anniversary of the Convention on Standards of Democratic Elections, Electoral Rights and Freedoms in the CIS Member Nations.
