Parliamentary election in the Republic of Belarus

Since early morning the IPA CIS international observers have been visiting polling stations as part of the mission to monitor the election of members of the House of Representatives of the sixth National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

Speaking to journalists the team coordinator, Vice Speaker of Majilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko noted: "It is very welcoming to see a friendly and agreeable setting at polling stations which is a typical Belorussian feature. May the God's will be for a high turnover of voters: today you are voting for your future and this is paramount".

Vladimir Bozhko met with the head of OSCE short-term mission Kent Harstedt, head of OSCE PA delegation Ivana Dobesova, head PA CE team Gisela Wurm, and head of ODIHR mission Tana de Zulueta.

The team had a final follow-up meeting on the results of the monitoring efforts. It will announce its final findings tomorrow 12 September.
