Outcome press conference of the CIS Observer Mission in Minsk

The press conference on the outcomes of the monitoring of the election of members of the sixth House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus took place in Minsk.

Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee — CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev noted that the authorities of Belarus and the elecoms at all levels had ensured full enjoyment of the right to free expression by citizens. The CIS mission presented its final finding: the election in Belarus on 11 September complied with the Constitution and the electoral legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

Sergey Lebedev underlined that the election had been in line with the principles of democratic elections, transparent, open and free. The election campaign was smooth and involved open competition while sustaining high quality of organization.

Coordinator of the IPA CIS Observer Team Vladimir Bozhko shared information about the team. He underscored that the short-term and long-term missions ensured a comprehensive monitoring of the electoral process. He noted that the IPA CIS observers had included their assessment in the Final Findings of the Mission.
