The Republic of Azerbaijan has summed up the outcome of the election

During its session the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan proved the outcome of the election to Milli Majlis that had taken place on 1 November.

Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Mazakhir Panakhov and other experts delivered their reports during the session. All the participants noted that the election had been democratic and in compliance with the law; minor contraventions had not influenced the result of the election.

Altogether, 15 political factions and 1 electoral block took part in the election. The winner, that is the ruling party New Azerbaijan, has now 69 seats in the Parliament out of 125.

The IPA CIS team of international observers followed the election to Milli Majlis in Azerbaijan. The team was composed of 21 parliamentarians from 6 CIS states, representatives of the IPA CIS Secretariat and experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary Process and Suffrage Protection of the CIS.
