CIS Expert Working Group to Be Established to Develop Draft Model Law on Platform Work

On 18 May, a session of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance was held in the Tavricheskiy Palace, chaired by Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Regional and Eurasian Integration Aleksey Sandykov.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy took part in the session. He also nominated Roman Levin as Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance.

Members of the Commission considered the draft Recommendations on the Development of Cooperation of the CIS Member Nations in the Field of Economic Security. They suggested the developer to finalize the draft taking into account the discussion that took place at the session of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Economy held on 11 May 2023.

Head and partner of the “Best Chance” SA Alexander Dolgov, Development Director of Rocket Work LLC Yana Danilova and Deputy Secretary General of the General Confederation of Trade Unions Natalia Podshibyakina spoke about the progress of the draft Model Law on Platform Work.

The Permanent Commission decided to establish a working group to develop the draft Model Law on Platform Work and to ask the CIS parliaments to nominate candidates for joining the working group.

The session considered information on the work on the revised Special Provisions of the Model Tax Code for the CIS Member Nations on the property, land and transport taxes. While drafting the document the national peculiarities of the Commonwealth states in the sphere of taxation were taken into account.

Aleksey Sandykov presented information on the work of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance in 2022. The Commission worked on a number of documents, of which seven model laws and other legal acts were adopted at the 55th Plenary Session of the IPA CIS.

MPs and experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of relevant agencies, staff members of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat took part in the session.
