IPA CIS Autumn Session to Be Held on 16-17 November in Bishkek

Heads and members of parliamentary delegations of the Commonwealth will participate in the events of the IPA CIS autumn session to be held on 16-17 November 2023 in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A session of the IPA CIS Council will take place on 16 November at the Ala Archa State Residence. The session will be attended by the heads of the parliamentary delegations. The speakers will discuss topical issues on the agenda and summarise the results of the events held in 2023. They will also be informed about monitoring of election campaigns in the CIS.
On the same day, sessions of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights and the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation will be held.
A session of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations (YIPA CIS) will also take place on 16 November.
On 17 November, the 56th plenary session of the IPA CIS will be held at the Ala Archa State Residence. The session will be attended by MPs, representatives of international organizations, academicians and experts.
Special attention at the session will be paid to the role of the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication in the CIS.
MPs also plan to consider a number of model laws in the field of ecology, security and law.
The invitation to hold the IPA CIS Autumn Session in the Kyrgyz Republic was made by Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev at the session of the IPA CIS Council held in October 2022.
