Meeting of IPA CIS Budget Oversight Commission Held via Videoconferencing

On 9 March 2021, the meeting of the IPA CIS Budget Oversight Commission was held via videoconferencing. The event was attended by the MPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the leadership of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat.

The meeting began with a minute of silence – the participants honored the memory of the Commission member, member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentin Shurchanov, who died last December after a serious illness.

Furthermore, member of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Valentina Nazarenko and First Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the Budget and Financial Markets Yelena Perminova were elected Deputy Chairs of the Commission.

Furthermore, the Commission members discussed a set of issues related to financial support of the IPA CIS activities drew the outcomes of the IPA CIS Budget Oversight Commission activities in 2020 and discussed the date and the provisional agenda of the next meeting.
