Results of IPA CIS Legislative Activity in Field of Healthcare Presented to Scientific Community

On 24 December 2021, the XIII Annual Research and Practice Conference “Medicine and Law in the XXI Century” took place in St. Petersburg.

The event was attended by the academia and experts in the field of medicine and healthcare, representatives of relevant universities and authorities from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan and other countries.

Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Board of Experts on Public Health Evgenia Vladimirova spoke at the session “Concept of Improving Supranational Legal Regulation in the EAEC in the Field of Healthcare in the Context of the Development of Innovative Digital Technologies”. She informed the meeting participants that the Assembly had adopted about fifteen model laws regulating the issues of public health protection in the CIS Member Nations. According to Evgenia Vladimirova, the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights was considering draft model laws promoting a healthy lifestyle, regulating marketing food for children, social advertising and digital healthcare.

During the Conference, participants also discussed the role of professional liability insurance for medical workers, mechanisms for regulating drugs prices, the criminological aspect of preventive medicine, etc.
