Specialists in Science and Education Supported Creation of Online Dictionary of Model Legislation Terms

On 31 March, a meeting of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Science and Education was held. Experts of the Commonwealth discussed the support of academic and technical and innovation activities in the CIS countries, as well as the preparation stages of the events to be held within the Year of the Russian Language, declared in the CIS in 2023.
The meeting of the Expert Advisory Board was headed by its Chair, Rector of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, RAS Academician Andrei Rudskoi.
Rector of the University associated with the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Eurasian Economic Community Irlan Iskakov analyzed the international experience in organizing academic and technological cooperation and made a proposal to create academic and technological consortia within the EAEU. Creation of academic and technological consortia will lead to new jobs, development of technologies, academic research and will accelerate integration processes.
Special attention was paid to the meaning of terms and definitions in the Model legislative acts. Based on the analysis of 157 model acts the glossary with more than 2000 model terms and definitions was compiled.
Advisor of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Issues of the CIS Executive Committee Galina Kazak pointed out that thanks to the shared history of the CIS countries the Russian language has retained its position as the main mean of international communication in the CIS.
