Tavricheskiy Palace Hosted a Meeting of IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health

The meeting of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters. The meeting discussed the principles of bioethics, evidence-based medicine and rehabilitation to achieve sustainable development goals in the CIS Member Nations.

The event brought together representatives of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy welcomed the meeting participants and noted that public health was at the forefront of the fight for the lives and health of citizens during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized that international cooperation in overcoming the disease and the crises associated with it was gaining more and more importance and, in his opinion, the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health actively promoted the development of such cooperation.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy also informed the meeting participants that on 25 November 2021, the IPA CIS and the WHO Regional Office for Europe would co-organize the International Conference “Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals”. He invited the members of the Expert Advisory Board to take part in the event.

Furthermore, the meeting participants were informed on the coordination of cooperation between the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health and international organizations on evidence-based medicine and rehabilitation in terms of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the CIS Member Nations.

The meeting included speeches from the heads of the Global Alliance of Assistive Technology Organizations, the Clinical Research Initiative for Global Health International Network, and the European Clinical Research Infrastructures Network. The speakers expressed their extreme interest in developing cooperation with the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health.
