Draft laws on local governance discussed in the Tavricheskiy Palace

At its meeting on 24-25 October, the Commission is considering draft laws on local self-governance, including the new draft model laws on Principles of Communal Governance, Guidelines for the Organization of Communal Finances, Principles and Procedure of Empowerment of Communal Government with Selected Public Functions, Status of Elected Communal Officials, updated in accordance with comments and inputs of the CIS parliaments.
The meeting will also focus on the draft Recommendations on the improvement of election laws regulating elections of heads of state in the CIS countries and the Recommendations on general administrative and operational framework of municipal referendums, elections, and votes.
Parliamentarians and experts will also consider draft Convention on Regional Cooperation in the CIS prepared by an IPA CIS working group that deliberates on 24-25 October.
