Ivan Kirilenko: Interparliamentary ties are the best vehicle of convergence

The meeting of the Commission took place on 10 October and lasted for over 3 hours. According to the Chairman, the matters of teachers’ future sparked an active and vibrant discussion. “We all have similar challenges to take on”, said Ivan Kirilenko, member of Verhovna Rada Committee on European Integration, Chairman, IPA CIS PC on Science and Education.
Draft Model Code of Innovations of the CIS Member Nations became central to the agenda of the meeting. Parliamentarians and experts believe that the Commonwealth countries need to harmonize legislation with a view to stay at the forefront of science and technological advance.
The participants studied the outcome of the Coordination meeting of experts (2-3 October) on the prospects of drafting CIS Convention on the Cooperation in the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.
“Interparliamentary ties have an unmatched unifying effect. They are the best vehicle of convergence for cultures, spirit and civilizations”, said Ivan Kirilenko.

We all are different and yet empowered to learn from each other. For this, interparliamentary ties are best.
“This is to characterize the working spirit and the environment of all IPA CIS Commissions, including ours. It should be noted that our common efforts and deliberations at meetings do make a difference, which finds its way into the laws of our countries”, he noted.
