IPA CIS PC on Social Policy and Human Rights held its regular autumn meeting

IPA CIS PC on Social Policy and Human Rights held its regular meeting in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

The participants of the meeting shared views on draft Recommendations on Setting Common Principles of Investigating Accidents and Other Injuries of Mechanical Workers in the CIS, Recommendations on Setting Common Approaches of Statistical Reporting in the Field of HSE in the CIS and heard information on 2016–2020 CIS Cooperation Program for Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes adopted by the CIS Council of Heads of State on 7 June 2016.

The members of the Commission were briefed on the work of the Board of Experts on Public Health at the IPA CIS.

The meeting discussed the status of HIV/AIDS among migrants across the CIS: review legislation in the fields of HIV/AIDS and migration to provide its alignment with International Guidelines on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights; usage of the innovative approach to monitor the performance of the child safety framework at the government level.

The participants also considered issues of amending the CIS Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making for 2016-2020, discussed the outcomes of the international conference Use of Weapons in Modern Conflicts: Humanitarian Aspects, application of the model acts sponsored by the IPA CIS PC on Social Policy and Human Rights and a few organizational issues.
