IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Meets in Tavricheskiy Palace

The meeting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters.

The event brought together the representatives of the parliaments of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting started with the organizational issue: member of the Committee of Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Rufat Guliyev, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on International Affairs Ivan Korzh, member of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Budget and Finance Ruslan Kazakbayev and Chair of the Committee of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on International Relations, Public Organizations and Information Olim Salimzoda were elected through an open vote Vice Chaimen of the Commission.

The members of the Commission were informed on the results of the sessions of the international parliamentary organizations (the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) and the coordination of the efforts of the CIS parliamentary delegations in the work of these bodies.

The members of the Commission also discussed the IPA CIS events dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945 in the CIS Member Nations and decided to support the Draft Action Plan and appealed the members of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation to take active part in its implementation.

The Commission was also briefed on the participation of the IPA CIS Observer Team in the presidential elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan held on 9 June 2019.
