MPs and experts will continue to work on the draft Convention on the Preservation of the CIS Cultural Heritage

2018 is declared the Year of the Culture in the countries of the Commonwealth. The relevant decision was taken by the Council of the CIS Heads of State at its meeting in Bishkek on 16 September 2016. The program of events of the Year of the Culture will be full of activities taking place in the Member Nations of the Commonwealth. The work to improve the legal framework of cultural cooperation will continue along with theater, musical and cinema festivals, organizing exhibitions, competitions and symposiums.
On 2 February, the Tavricheskiy Palace, the headquarters of the IPA CIS will host a regular meeting of the Working Group at the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport on Drafting the Convention on the Preservation of the CIS Cultural Heritage. MPs and experts will continue drafting the document, discuss the progress, amendments and proposals submitted by the IPA CIS parliaments.
