Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations was awarded a diploma for the exemplary organization, preparation and hosting of important events in the field of culture, education and innovations

A meeting on the results of implementation of the program of short-term study tours to the Russian Federation of the young leaders from foreign countries “New Generation” was hosted in Moscow yesterday. 1000 specialists from 100 countries visited Russia in 2017 within the Program.

The participants of the meeting shared impressions on the results of this year and outlined prospects of cooperation under the New Generation program for 2018.

Partner organizations that participated in the implementation of the program were also invited to attend the meeting. Margarita Safarova, Secretary-in-charge of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations, attended the meeting on behalf the IPA CIS Council Secretariat.

During the meeting Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) Irina Zhivikhina awarded Margarita Safarova with a diploma recognizing the exemplary organization, preparation and hosting of important events in the field of culture, education and innovations by the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations.

For several years, the YIPA CIS and Rossotrudnichestvo have been promoting mutual partnership. Within the New Generation program, young leaders from across the CIS participated in the CIS Youth Inter-parliamentary Forum co-organized by the IPA CIS and Rossotrudnichestvo in 2014 in St. Petersburg, as well as in a range of extended sessions of the YIPA CIS in 2015-2017.

During the program implementation in 2011-2017 more than 5000 participants from 107 countries visited Russia. The delegations included young civil society and political leaders, scientists, representatives of the press and online media, publicists, celebrities, specialists in the fields of energy, medicine etc.

The organizers of the project reported that they would engage a broader range of partners next year adding that Rossotrudnichestvo was open for new cooperation proposals.

The event closed with the ceremony of awarding certificates to Partners of the New Generation program.
