Social policy issues discussed in the IPA CIS headquarters

Session of the IPA CIS PC on Social Policy and Human Rights took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace.
Chair of the IPA CIS PC, Chair of the Committee on Regional Issues of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Arif Rahimzade opened the meeting.
The meeting featured discussions on the model laws: Medical Insurance, Student Volunteer Teams. On 15 April, the Commission will discuss the following draft recommendations:
· Protection of Medical Staff and Facilities During Armed Conflicts and Other Situations of Violence;
· Setting and Promoting Standard Requirements for Policies in the Field of Initial Prevention of Social Risks Among Youth;
· Setting Common Principles of Investigating Accidents and Other Injuries of Mechanical Workers in the CIS;
· Building Common Approaches for Statistical Reporting in the Field of HSE in the CIS.
The participants also discussed the draft program of the conference Protection of Medical Personnel and Facilities in Armed Conflicts and Other Situations of Violence.
Head of IFRC in Russia Davron Mukhamadiev spoke on the IFRC's role in promoting migrant access to healthcare as an important driver of social adaptation.
Director of the contest for children Nad Y Nadezhda Lineva spoke on hosting the first contest.
The working program of the session will also include a training session on combating human trafficking organized by the IFRC. The training is a part of the program Combating Human Trafficking in Russia: Focus on Labor Women Migrants and Home Workers. The overarching goal of this project is to analyze related government policies and improve migrant access to legal and psychological help, spread best practices and raise awareness about the problems they are facing.
