The meeting of the IPA CIS PC on Political Issues and International Cooperation took place in the IPA CIS HQ

Under the leadership of the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Muhtar Erman, members of the commission reviewed the draft provision on the status of an observer at the IPA CIS and the request of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly for observer status. They unanimously approved the appeal to the IPA CIS Council with a request to support the striving of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and grant it the observer status at the IPA CIS.

The participants also discussed the concept and program of the Conference on Countering International Terrorism, scheduled to be held in April 2019 co-organized by IPA CIS, PACE, OSCE PA, Mediterranean PA, Inter-Parliamentary Union and CSTO PA.

Commission members discussed measures to establish specific mechanisms for coordinating the actions of parliamentary delegations of the CIS states participating in the work of international organizations.
