Memory of Siege Survivors and Defenders of Leningrad Honored at Piskarevskoye Memorial

A solemn mourning ceremony was held at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery in St. Petersburg on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The participants of the column passed through the alleys of the memorial, where there are burials of hundreds of thousands of victims of the blockade and soldiers who defended Leningrad.
The IPA CIS delegation included Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hyak Chilingaryan, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ashat Mukashev, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Irina Sokolova and other Secretariat staff members.
The representatives of the Assembly laid a wreath at the foot of the monument “Motherland”, flowers - at the memorial plaques in memory of the fallen in battles.
