Valentina Matvienko Noted Relevance of Inter-parliamentary Dialogue in Context of Global Challenges

During the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tashkent, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko met with President of the IPU and Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania Tulia Ackson.

Valentina Matvienko noted the high level of organization and the constructive atmosphere of the Assembly, which facilitated open dialogue on pressing international issues. She emphasized that the broad participation of global delegations underscores the growing demand for interparliamentary cooperation in the face of complex global challenges.

Stressing the authority of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the international arena, Valentina Matvienko welcomed the organization’s increasing engagement in addressing key issues of global development. In her view, this inclusive approach ensures that decisions reflect diverse perspectives and contribute to balanced, well-considered outcomes.

The meeting was also attended by Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, underscoring the commitment of the IPA CIS to active involvement in international parliamentary platforms.
