Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council to attend the 133rd Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is on a three-day working visit in Geneva to take part in the 133rd IPU Assembly.

Before the Assembly Valentina Matvienko met with the leadership of the IPU – Saber Chowdhury, President, and Secretary General Martin Chungong.

Valentina Matvienko is expected to address the general debate of the IPU Assembly on The moral and economic imperative for fairer, smarter and more humane migration.

The agenda of Valentina Matvienko includes the meetings with Anne Brasseur, President of the PA CE, William Swing, IOM Director-General, the UN High Commissioner on Refugees Antonio Guterres and Margaret Chan, WHO Director-General.
